Maglin was born on the 27.2.1956 in Kuala Lumpur General Hospital and used to live at Perry Road now known as Lorong P. Ramlee (behind Concorde Hotel). He is the second among 1 sister and 3 brothers. Maglin lost his father when he was 4 years old. His family later moved to Kluang where his mother started a Sundry Shop business to raise her family single handedly.

After his higher education, Maglin worked at the Ministry of Defence for 5 years before venturing into his own logistic business which he successfully managed till the day he was appointed as a senator and deputy minister.

Known to his friends as a caring yet no nonsense kind of individual, he is always there in time of need. Dependable and willing to walk the extra mile to make another life better. A keen sports person involved in hockey, football, badminton and athletics. A top long distance runner during his school days.

Has a great passion for racing some of his friends still speak of the days when he use to speed around the shah alam racing track on his Ducati 250. Mark 1.

Known to many as a man who does not pretend speaks from the heart, full of ideas and solutions and every approachable hence the tagline “For the People”.
