I have always believed that if I could spare a little of my time to be of service and assistance to others than my life would be more meaningful. I guess it has always been a part of my character to help and if comes naturally (optional).When I was in school I used to see some of my classmates, not having pocket money for their meals. So, I would share whatever little I have with them.
I have always been of assistance to others be it matters involving the government agencies, police matters, local council matters, resolving family disputes or even misunderstanding among friends. Over the years I guess I have given the confidence to others that I am someone who they can approach me for assistance. The community service centre came about when one day a friend of mine told me that his friend has a problem with a local council. This friend of his has a dog breeding business in the outskirts of Klang Valley and the local council wanted him to vacate his business.
I ask for advice from a lawyer friend of mine who told me that the involvement of a politician will enable the matter to be resolved with much ease. I remarked that I am not close to any politicians and a friend of mine who was with me told me that he knows the driver of a politician.
I requested an appointment and three days later met up with Yang Berbahagia Datuk Seri M.Kayveas the Presiden of PPP Malaysia. He assisted me in resolving the Kennel problem. This was when I realized that if I wanted to be effective in helping others, I needed a political platform. I decided to join Yang Berbahagia Datuk Seri M.Kayveas and has never looked back since.
A feel good factor within me is that I can help assist the burden of many of those who approach me. Thousands of cases has been resolved and it has also given me great personal knowledge. I have operated this community service centre since 1996. It takes quite a large portion of my time. But it gives me great personal satisfaction just the same. I am glad to be able to touch the lives of others. As Edward Gardner said, ‘It is not what you take but what you live behind that defines greatness’.
